The Campus Security Operations Center

Columbine. Sandy Hook. Parkland. The shooters in all of these terrible events left clues as to their intentions. People knew they were going to do it. But because of a lack of a central clearinghouse for all the numerous indicators both on the web and among those who knew the shooters, the indicators were never assembled into a cohesive picture that would have allowed authorities to stop the violent acts before they happened. iXero is dedicated to solving this problem. To this end, we proudly introduce the Campus Security Operations Center.

Paying close attention to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the CSOC is your school district's hub of information gathering and analysis and follow-on action. It monitors all school security measures, online sources, and human reporting to develop proactive, preemptive solutions. Compassionate intervention instead of delayed reaction: the CSOC gets ahead of any threat.

While the media only concentrates on sensational events like shootings, kidnappings, and assault, other less notable occurences happen every day that the CSOC can help prevent. It can find people on campus dealing with depression and bullying. It can spot and reports acts of vandalism. It can identify thieves to stop theft. The CSOC is capable of these and much more.

Information can come from many places, and that one vital piece of information may be lost in the crowd. So the CSOC interacts with every possible source, sorts and analyzes the information, and produces measures to stop threats and problems before they can become a dangerous reality.

The CSOC is designed around the perfect combination of computerized and human resources, ensuring that all analysis is complete and relevant.

Tip lines are exceptionally valuable, and the CSOC can help find those key pieces of information among any false reporting. It compares the information to that received from other sources to validate potential problems.

People regularly announce their intentions or brag about actions they took over social media. The CSOC has analysis systems to identify that information and allow the proper administrators or authorities to act accordingly.

If school cyber systems are used to talk about or perform harmful actions, the CSOC flags those conversations and events and identifies them to CSOC personnel so proper action can be initiated.

School security cameras have been a go-to solution for years. But where do those feeds go, and how is the imagery acted upon? The CSOC provides a built-in monitoring solution, ensuring the camera imagery is given the weight and consideration it deserves.

In most situations, response time is critical. So, the CSOC maintains liaison with first responders and medical/psychological assistance.

As analysis identifies situations that need attention, the CSOC can inform and relocate the appropriate security or administration personnel to address it.

And to build on effective training techniques, the CSOC implements and assesses readiness drills and training.

But most importantly, the CSOC is designed to be a district entity with administration oversight. It's your school district, and the CSOC is the best mechanism for helping you control security.
